What Our Partners Are Working On

Sovereign Society partners with treatment facilities who aren't just delivering care under the new effective model — they're actively building what comes next. Here's where that work is headed:

Expanding Access to Care

Our partner facilities are working to bring the new standard of care to more people, in more places:

  • New clinic locations in population centers and in partnership with hospitals, extending access to communities that need it most.
  • Rural and underserved area access through telehealth combined with limited in-person care — so geography no longer determines the quality of treatment someone can receive.
  • Expanded insurance and payer relationships, including government and commercial contracts, so cost is less of a barrier to entry.

Technology Built for Long-Term Recovery

Because this model is built around years of continuity, not weeks of crisis care, our partners are exploring technology that makes long-term monitoring possible:

  • Wearable and smartphone-based monitoring — tracking vital signs, stress signals, sleep patterns, and other indicators that can flag a stress event before it becomes a relapse.

  • A purpose-built addiction medicine EMR, designed to capture more comprehensive patient data, support real-time clinical intervention, and eventually incorporate AI-assisted decision-making.
  • Long-term outcomes data infrastructure — the kind of longitudinal tracking that's been missing from addiction treatment, and that's necessary to keep improving the model over time.

Expanding Access to Care

Our partners are also exploring how to bring more of a patient's care under one roof, reducing fragmentation:

  • On-site labs (urine and blood testing) integrated directly into ongoing treatment.
  • Imaging capabilities, including the kind of brain imaging that has helped demonstrate how the addicted brain heals over time.
  • Urgent care services — both traditional and addiction-specific — so patients have somewhere to turn during a stress event besides the emergency room.
  • Additional medical specialties, like family practice, so addiction treatment isn't siloed from the rest of a patient's health.

Leading on Policy and Industry Standards

Beyond any single clinic, our partners see this moment as an opportunity to help shape how addiction treatment works nationally — through leadership in policy conversations, new insurance and payer relationships built around long-term outcomes, and the kind of data that can move an entire industry toward evidence-based standards.

Sovereign Society's Role

We fund and support the independent research, data validation, and educational work that helps turn these efforts from promising ideas into a proven, scalable model — one that could ultimately benefit patients far beyond any single clinic or community.
